County Championships
HSMBA Triples Champions - Norman Davies Shield
2023-24 Competition
Fourteen teams from eight clubs took part in the 2023-24 County Triples Championship at Ross Bowling Club on Sunday 22nd October. The group stage saw two groups of four and two groups of three battle it out in the morning with two teams from each group making it through to the afternoon knockouts.
The Semi-Finals saw two Ross teams remaining on separate sides of the draw. Lynda Evans, Rob George and Ian Roe put in a strong performance against Fownhope’s Nic Cooper, Fran Jones & Peter Lewis to fire up hopes of an all Ross final. However, these were dashed by Woolhope’s Shirley & Becci Cox and John Mills who overcame Sue Dix, Wayne Jordan and Dave Watkins to book their place.
A nip and tuck final saw Woolhope run out eventual winners with an 8-5 win as Shirley, Becci and John took their second County Triples Championship as a trio following their maiden win in 2018.
