Teams are drawn into two groups (Swallows and Larks) within which each team plays each other home and away. The top team in each group progresses to an end of season play-off to determine an overall champion.

Each match comprises one game each of singles, pairs, triples and fours and is organised in such a way that a team can play a match with a squad of between 5 and 10 players depending on their preferences or circumstances.
