The Summer League “League Stage” has now been completed with last year’s champions Gorsley Chapel Oaks winning the Swallows Division as last year’s finalists Lea took the Larks Division, with the latter’s eyes firmly set on avenging last year’s defeat.
The Swallows division was closely contested with every team winning at least three matches and only 9 points separating the four teams behind the leaders.
The Lea won the Larks division by 5 points. Behind them, Ross Rockers and Gorsley Chapel Cedars each won three matches, although Ross gathered 11 more points in the process. Fownhope Wrens fielded a team predominantly comprising new bowlers looking for league match experience but who performed well against strong, experienced opponents.
The Summer League final takes place next Tuesday (27th) at Upton Bishop Millennium Hall. The match will commence at 7pm and all spectators are welcome.
