Saturday 19th September saw the HSMBA’s annual season opener take place at Ross Bowling Club. 80 HSMBA members gathered to celebrate the past year’s successes in a wonderful evening full of laughter and camaraderie.
HSMBA Chair Steve Kite made a wonderful debut as Master of Ceremonies, leading a brilliant tribute to the Association’s achievements over the last 12 months. The trophies were once again provided by the fantastic Chrome Awards of Gloucester and organised by Sophie Heather-Warner in an eye-catching display. Special congratulations go to Becci Cox, who took home the HSMBA Achievement Award in recognition of her incredible 15-year stint as County Captain, as well as Joe Loveys, who took home the Administration Award for his work on development within the Association. Herefordshire’s newest National Champions, the mixed fours winning quartet of Dawn & Becci Cox, Bryan Watkins & John Mills, were also re-presented with their trophy in recognition of their wonderful achievement.
Following the presentation of awards, a fantastic two-course Ploughman’s Supper was served before the main event of the evening: the raffle.
The HSMBA thanks all those who attended and helped make the night so successful, including, but not limited to, Glyn Williams and Dave Rush for their work behind the bar, Becci Cox, who continued her great run as the HSMBA’s in house “Head of Catering”, as well as everyone who came along and helped before, during and after the event.
