Match Report: Herefordshire 36 – 4 Worcestershire (13/11/22)

A fantastic performance saw the County Team achieve their first win of the season in impressive fashion. The last time Herefordshire were drawn against Worcestershire in the group stages was back in the 2014/15 season meaning that Herefordshire were coming up against a relatively unknown outfit, despite the close proximity between the two counties.

It was therefore with great pride that Herefordshire took victory in 14 of the 16 matches on the day, with both losses only coming by one shot; thus securing all 8 of the bonus points on offer. The morning session saw greater dominance from Herefordshire, with Ian Roe’s triple picking up the pick of the scores with a 29-1 in the triples. Worcestershire hit back in the afternoon as they started to adjust to the fast mats at Ross Bowling Club, picking up an additional +39 shots difference across the mats but unable to improve upon their matches won from the morning.

The convincing victory puts Herefordshire in second place in the early running, with their home and away matches against Gloucester sure to be crucial to their overall position.

The HSMBA would like to extend their thanks to Ross Bowling Club for allowing the match to be played at their venue following the unavailability of the Larruperz Centre.
