This season’s Macmillan Tournament has been rearranged following the decision to postpone the event due to the extreme weather at the weekend. The rearranged event will take place on Sunday 9th February.
Please find the below statement from Competition Secretary Becci Cox regarding the event:
Firstly may I take the opportunity to thank you for your understanding following the decision to postpone the Macmillan Championship last weekend. There is no right time to cancel an event of this scale. We wanted to give it the best chance we could have to go ahead on the day and hoped that we could run a reduced event, allowing everyone to get home earlier but conditions deteriorated incredibly quickly and once the Bodenham road was closed just after 8:00, it became clear that the event could not be held. The safety of all involved was our main concern and as I am sure you will have seen, it is clear the correct decision was made with Leominster becoming cut off due to flooding.
Looking forwards, I am so pleased to be able to say that we have been able to rearrange the Macmillan Championship for Sunday 9th February.
All teams entered into last Sunday’s event will retain their places. For example if a club had two teams entered then you will keep those two places. I ask that you please let me know if you are unable to fulfil your place or if you are unable to fulfil all of your teams so that we know how many entries we have. Once this is done, I will email out a request for further entries once we know how many spots we have as I am hopeful that a few clubs who could not enter due to fixture clashes may well be able to in February. I ask that you please check with your teams asap and only email IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO FUFILL YOUR ENTRY(S) and we will process a refund for you. If I do not hear from you It will be assumed you are able to fulfil all your entry(s) on the new date. Please can this be done by Monday 16th December.
