Herefordshire Short Mat Bowling Association

Macmillan Final Total Confirmed!

The dust has settled and the final calculations have been done with the HSMBA proud to confirm that last month’s Macmillan Tournament raised a fantastic £2,300, taking the total raised over its thirty year history to in excess of £37,000!

HSMBA Competition Secretary Becci Cox and HSMBA Chair Joe Loveys were pleased to meet with Macmillan West Midlands Relationship Fundraising Manager John Harrison at Bridge Street Sports Centre, Leominster to confirm the donation and allow John to see what the sport of Short Mat Bowls is all about!

John said, “I cannot put into words how thankful we at Macmillan are for the HSMBA’s long running support. £2,300 is a huge amount of money that will help so many people on its own; put into the context of over £37,000 in total, it’s just absolutely brilliant!”

Becci and Joe have invited John to represent Macmillan at our next competition as we look to push the £40,000.

In her final year as Competition Secretary, Becci said, ‘It has been an honour to lead the team running the Macmillan over the last few years. It is incredible to see the generosity not just of bowlers in Herefordshire but also those who come from further away each year to play whether that be Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Powys and even further! I look forward to continuing as part of the organising team as we continue to raise as much money as we can for this worthy cause!”
