Herefordshire’s County season has come to an end as they lost 28-12 to a strong Cheshire side in the first knockout round of the ICC.
The Bulls were rewarded for achieving first place in their group with a tough draw against last year’s “Premier Two” winners and headed up the M5 knowing a challenging match was in store.
Following a clean sweep in the first session for Cheshire, Herefordshire fought back to put the score at 10-6 heading into the afternoon. However, another strong showing from the Cheshire Singles and Pairs put them back in the driving seat leaving The Bulls with too much to do in the final session as the match finished 28-12, 218-169.
Herefordshire Captain Becci Cox praised the team’s resilient performance and noted the considerable improvement in “mat on mat” performance against a strong County side like Cheshire. Whilst this season is over, the date for next year’s County Trials has been released (25th May), for further information please contact Becci (firstname.lastname@example.org) or visit the County Team page on the website where you can read Becci’s letter to prospective players.
