Herefordshire Bow Out at Semi-Final Stage Following Narrow Defeat to Wiltshire

Herefordshire’s journey in this year’s Inter County Championship came to an end on Sunday 26th March with a 23-17 (173-173 shots) defeat to Wiltshire at Solihull IBC, missing out on the “Premier 2” final by the narrowest of margins.

Optimism was in the air as the squad arrived at the venue, with Herefordshire looking to continue their momentum from the 24-16 Quarter-Final win over Surrey, but sadly it was not meant to be against resilient opponents. 9-7 down at the halfway mark and 17-11 down going into the final session, Herefordshire fought hard to overturn the deficit but ultimately found themselves on the wrong end of some very close games that were decided by the final bowl.

Despite some disappointment on the day, it goes without saying that this season has been a resounding success for Herefordshire. Captain Becci Cox thanked her team, expressing her pride as a captain and reflecting on what has been achieved. She also praised the way the team has bonded and supported each other throughout, making it clear that she hoped to continue the momentum and go even further in the competition next season!
