After many years of travelling to Churchdown to face Gloucestershire, a fresh challenge awaited The Bulls as they made their way to Kingsway Community Centre for the first time. A hard floor venue, the fast pace of the mats was noticeable from the outset but as was the absence of Churchdown’s infamous Mats 1 and 4.
The first session saw the points shared overall and produced two fantastic final ends in each pairs match as both David Millington Jones & Ian Roe and Claire Herbert & Peter Wright came out on top. In the triples and fours, a solid second session put the scores at 10-6 at the halfway stage.
The third session again saw the points split, with a win in each discipline putting Herefordshire five points off victory at 16-12. Any fears of a nervous ending were swiftly put to bed as both triples picked up victories to take the bonus points, with the bonus also taken in the fours to leave the overall score at 26-14 (210-177).
