County Team Record Best Ever Group Stage Result but Face Tough Draw in Next Round

The Herefordshire County Team have gone unbeaten in the group stages of the Inter County Championship for the first time having won all six of their respective home and away games against Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Avon to put them top of their group and into the “main” knockout competition.

The Bulls entered their final group game against Avon knowing that a win would be enough to guarantee top of the table and that’s just what they did, producing their best result of the season with a 35-5 victory that saw them achieve a clean sweep in the afternoon session following a much closer morning.

For all of the team’s fantastic effort, they have fallen unlucky with their knockout draw having been randomly selected from the six group winners to enter the preliminary round, facing the runner up of Group 5 which will be one of West Midlands or Cheshire on Sunday 4th February (details TBC).

Huge congratulations go to Becci Cox and her squad and the Association wishes them the very best in their knockout game!
