The HSMBA AGM took place at Ross Bowling Club on Wednesday 20th May and saw a refresh of the County Committee while all motions received, primarily minor wording and rule amendments, were passed unanimously.
With Joe Loveys stepping down as Chair and Web & Press Secretary to take on the newly created Development Officer role, Lea’s Steve Kite was elected as the Association’s new Chair. Sophie Heather-Warner was elected as Web & Press Secretary. There was also a change in responsibilities for former County Captain Becci Cox, who was elected back into the role of Competition Secretary. Replacing her at the helm of the County Team is John Mills, whose first task will be to announce next season’s squad.
Stepping down from the Committee completely, former Treasurer Jim Wilkinson was thanked for his service to the Association with Woolhope’s Carole Crisp taking over the role.
Following the AGM, the annual Club Forum provided members with the opportunity to raise questions with the Committee regarding any aspect of the HSMBA. The main topic of discussion was the Cross Substitution rule, with a healthy debate demonstrating exactly why the forum exists. Delegates were also updated on the Committee’s grant application for new equipment.
